Hidden Gem

A transitional moment between reservoir and trail, the Hidden Gem reveals itself to the visitor upon approach to the sunken courtyard. The Prism houses the greenhouse and fluid gallery, and is foreshadowed by prismatic sculptures on the main axis. The enveloping building, partially recessed into the berm, acts as an extension of the landscape, and conceals the Prism from SE and NW views.

Core & Screen

Core and Screen creates an enclosed yet permeable workspace, revolving around the sustainable core of the building- rainwater collection through a full height atrium. The screens radiate outwards to create a connection between the core and the public, while guiding circulation between the two. The screens carry the core's thread of sustainability as the east facade features a double-glazed window to insulate heat and noise, and the south facade uses a permeable bamboo screen to shade and ventilate.

Dwelling in the City

The goal of this project is to provide spacious and beautiful affordable units for as many tenants as possible. The twisting form creates pockets of space which give each unit at least one balcony, and ample access to nature. The approach begins at the cafe spaces on the ground floor, up to the community patio space on the 2nd floor, and ends at the green-roof, designed to foster connections between residents.

Charles St. Library

This infill library creates a place for community and learning in Charles St. Baltimore. The promenade takes visitors from a very public, interactive ground floor, up to progressivley quiter and reflective areas. The Library features a large cutout on the back, which creates both indoor and outdoor terracing. The alley is transformed into a recreational space to be used freely by the community, and is overlooked by the outdoor terracing.
